Solar power make-up!

It's always been my dream to have a home powered by sustainable energy. Top reason is my eco-living advocacy in life. But it's never a secret that solar power system is pretty expensive for starters.. it's like buying a new car. So no wonder not all can see that it's way more economical in the long run because not all have that big amount of cash ready to be invested right away. Good news though, I've been seeing some solar power companies finally offering installment plans so it's a lot more accessible for middle class folks. When I get a house of my own, I'll definitely do this!

For now, I pacify my solar power dreams by investing on basic kits and gadgets for the home. These equipments aren't meant for long-term use though. So I must make sure to find a way for them to be repurposed when they expire or it will negate my cause. :)) For now, I have an electric fan, small lamps and a solar charger. Pretty basic but I must say I've been using the lamps for 2 years now and the fan for almost a year and they already saved me a lot of pesos since I do use them everyday.

My solar charger from Light in the Box was just sent to me last summer. Since the power would depend on how sunny it is, I usually just leave it by my window and charge my powerbank with it. Unlike my fan and lamps that has batteries, this one is direct charging only so I try to store energy through my power bank. Kinda slow especially now that it's been raining a lot but a peso saved is still a peso and the idea of free energy really amuses me no matter how simple. These are really handy when there is a power outage - at least I have a fan, some lights, and my phone is charged! Big deal really!

Solar fan kit I bought at Raon, Quiapo. Includes fan, battery and solar panel already. Kitty cover made by me :)

Of course, I need to incorporate everything with my sense of style so kawaii-fied they go! I hope I somehow inspired you to start solar powering your life even with just the basics.

New hobby: Kawaii planning

I finally gave in to a new hobby which is kawaii planning (or creative planning) just this August. And today, I'd like to share with you my spreads and my progresses so far. :)

My current planner is actually one of my stocks at Crescent Kiss, a kawaii lifestyle shop I just opened recently. The shop carries novelty items, collectibles, accessories for home and stationery. I'm pretty low in stocks atm but please do check out the page and you might find something you would like! I named the shop after my daughter, Beau Crescent and my dog, Kisses. :)

Here is my first ever spread for August. Ew! Noob levels I don't know what to do really so I kinda went sticker crazy lololol. It was my birthday month and Dorotee Sweetlips' anniversary month hence the cakes and sweets avalanche.

My September spreads are now divided per week so I decided to create a weekly theme this time. Forgot to take a photo of the first week so here is second to fourth week spreads. Cats, Rilakkuma and Wonderland themes~

I also find journaling interesting. Thanks to Rainbowholic for inspiring me. But with how busy I am juggling mommy duties + multiple micro businesses + self-branding, I don't think I can commit to a daily journal yet so I decided to make a monthly recap instead where I document the month's highlights and victories to remember. The thought of reading through my spreads a couple of years from now is exciting!

Here's my highlights for September! It's really important to write down every small details of our lives because it's nice and healthy to remember. While blogging or micro-blogging on instagram or any social media can do the job, there's something with journaling that makes it extra spiritual and personal. This would be a great mommy and daughter activity! I can't wait for Beau to be old enough so we can planner/journal together.

October week 1 theme is lolita and week 3 is Totoro. I skipped (actually forgot lol) week 2 due to idk sometimes life just happens eh. hahaha.

The cats stickers from the the first pic is available at Tea Pawty. Plugging because proceeds goes to building a shelter for stray domestic animals!

Welcome to my desk. I don't always work here (sometimes on our fugly dining table or on the floor lol) but please appreciate the set-up hehehe.

Totoro ice cream sticker by Little Miss Paintbrush. Totoro pen from Crescent Kiss. Cat pen from Light in the Box. Love them~

Kawaii planning + coffee = zen.

Gold elegant teaspoon from Light in the Box!

And here's my cover spread. Sorta not yet done though. It's my painting of me and Beau + my few other paintings I made into stickers.

So far so good. What a great way to organize my forever busy life but in a "kawaii"way. It's helpful because instead of feeling overwhelmed with my daily tasks and workloads, it brightens my mood and help me feel motivated and happy because that's how kawaii lifestyle should work!
